CHARACTERISTICS 

T1 line is not the extension of an existing network, nor it is the transformation of a working railway line into a streetcar line: even though it still uses the sedimentary grounds of the former “Ferrovia della Valle Seriana” railway station, T1 is a completely new line.

The track crosses the territories of Bergamo, Torre Boldone, Ranica, Alzano Lombardo, Nembro and Albino, over 12,5 km, and covers a population consisting of more than 220.000 people. The service commercial speed is 25 km/h, with a maximum speed of 70km/h. The line voltage is 750V, guaranteed by 10 electrical substations.
