All along the Sentierone you can also admire the so-called “quadriportico”, an elegant arcade adorned with marble decorations and full of refined shops and cafes; on the opposite side, you can admire the city theatre, dedicated to the renowned music composer Gaetano Donizetti.
On the other side of the street you will find a beautiful square, Piazza Vittorio Veneto: here stands an obelisk dedicated to Napoleon, along with the Torre dei Caduti – the War Memorial Tower.
As you walk, don’t miss the many small side squares, including the lovely Piazza Dante decorated with the Triton Fountain aka “Trade Fair Fountain”, designed by Caniana. If you love art, go visit the majestic Church of San Bartolomeo and Santo Stefano on the Eastern side of this area: on the inside, you can admire the famous “Martinengo Altarpiece” painted by Lorenzo Lotto in XVI Century.
