This suburban park hosts sports facilities, associations and the Public Library. Parco Montecchio is the result of the careful renovation of and ancient property carried out by the concrete industrialist Carlo Pesenti in the late XIX Century, with the supervision of the renowned architect Virginio Muzio.
Here you can admire the beautiful building in neo-Renaissance style featuring a lovely loggia overlooking the park, the staircase built in coloured “decorative concretes”, the halls decorated by Luigi Frana and the small tower.
Inside the “English garden” you can also find the small “oratory”, namely the church for private worship: it is a real gem of Gothic Revival style, completely designed by Muzio and built in artificial stone made of “white concrete”, a hydraulic binder manufactured by Pesenti in Alzano since 1894.
