The playing field was 120 metres by 70 metres and was surrounded by a 430-metre by 6 metre cinder athletics track. There were 12,000 seats with two grandstands, one covered and one uncovered.
The stadium has undergone several renovations over the years, the last in 2015 with the complete restyling of the Central Grandstand, the modernisation of the Creberg Grandstand, the abolition of the barriers between Central Grandstand and the field and the creation of a new parquet seating area for 400 spectators. There are 21,000 seats, but the restoration works are yet to be completed. On completion, the stadium with have a 24,000-spectator capacity.
